Founded in 1942 as Heung-A Tire Company, Nexen Tire Co. takes pride in its 80-year commitment to the tire industry. Notably, we earned recognition in 1956 as the first Korean tire company.

In 1985, we established a dedicated facility in Yangsan, Korea, focusing on the production of radial tires. Six years later, in collaboration with OHTSU Tire & Rubber in Japan, we enhanced our development and manufacturing capabilities.

The name “Nexen” is a fusion of two forward-looking words: “next” and “century.” This choice reflects Nexen’s determination to prepare for the future and contribute to a better tomorrow. In 2000, underscoring our dedication to quality and ongoing leadership, we transitioned from Woosung Tire to Nexen Tire Corporation. The name Nexen encapsulates our commitment to shaping the future and driving progress into the next century.
